The surgical procedure will last approximately 5 minutes. It will start with a internal exam very much like what you experience during a pap exam. When the physical exam is completed a speculum will be inserted into your vagina so the Physician can see your cervix. You will then receive a local anesthesia to numb your cervix. The Physician will then begin to gently dilate your cervix with a series of instruments: The Physician will begin with a very small dilator and then progress to a slightly larger one and so on, until your cervix is dilated to the appropriate width. Once the cervix is dilated the Physician will insert a rounded plastic tube called a cannula into your uterus and then use suction to remove the pregnancy. Once this part is complete, the procedure is over. You will then be escorted into the recovery room so that you may relax until you are ready to leave.
It is very important to take care of yourself after the procedure. We will give you very specific instructions to take home with you and in addition, we are always available to answer any questions.
We accept Visa, MasterCard, bank drafts or cash. We do not accept personal checks and we are not able to offer payment plans.
We offer two kinds of pregnancy tests. Our free test is a late detection test: you must be at least six weeks from your last period in order for this test to read correctly. We also have an early detection test that is accurate about 10-14 days after conception (or three to four weeks from your last period). There is a small fee for this test. We are unable to provide Proof of Pregnancy at this time. Please call us for pregnancy testing hours or if you have any questions.
If you are pregnant and unsure about how you want to proceed please call the clinic. We can discuss your options including abortion, carrying to term and adoption, or carrying to term and parenting. We can provide referrals for in-depth counseling, adoption specialists, and Obstetricians. We want to make sure your questions are answered and that you are informed of all available options for your pregnancy before you make a decision.
